Zoomer Stops Working Occasionally
Zoomer Stops Working Occasionally
Title says it all. I have to re-boot to get it to work again (not just restart Powercadd)
I am running 9.1.5 (10.1.3 v5 WT) on a 27" iMac with Sierra.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? If so, does the updated version of Powercadd fix the issue?
Thanks!

Yes, it's happened to me a couple of times running 9.1.8 on High Sierra so the latest update doesn't fix it. I've no idea how to repeat it but I remember the first time it happened I tried reinstalling, deleting preferences etc and it was only when I rebooted the Mac that it came back. Very strange.

Thanks David.
Mine started working again on its own this time a few minutes after a Powercadd restart - strange.
I can't seem to repeat it either.

Re: Zoomer Stops Working Occasionally
None of the proposed solutions will fix this, so forget about reinstalling the software, rebooting the machine or PowerCADD. All of these will not do a thing and are wasted efforts.
Zoomer looks directly at the keyboard, and there are no layers of software between Zoomer and the keyboard.
The problem is the keyboard: dirt, bad connection, stuck key, maybe caps lock down? New keyboard? Maybe just slap it around!

Alfred, It is not the keyboard. This happened on my old machine as well.
My caps lock is always down when I use Powercadd.
It must be something else. Rebooting fixes it 100% of the time.

Hmmm. There is a new data type involved. Maybe it gets polluted and stops working reliably.

It happens to me, too, so I just quit/restart PowerCADD and that seems to fix it. I'm on a 27" iMac running Sierra.

Re: Zoomer Stops Working Occasionally
Try restarting the keyboard by either unplugging the USB port or removing/replacing batteries.
I find if I rest a hand on the trackpad for too long without moving (such as napping...) the curser freezes and a restart of the trackpad fixes it (by removing / replacing batteries).
