Savings on Solar Panels? Anyone?
Savings on Solar Panels? Anyone?
While not a designer by license or degree, I have built several houses using my designs and had them finalized by Architects and approved. You could say is it sort of a hobby of mine, that I and blessed and can fortunatly do. However that being said, I am looking for some proof from some actual installers or people who have actually installed their Solar Panels, and have been saving and getting paid by their utility company.
Is there anyone out there who can actually tell me for a fact what they are getting? The only person I found was on the forum of http://www.emeraldwhoswho.com who waited anxiously for his pay day from the city utility company. Eventually he did get it, but he did have to wait some time to get it.
In a funny comment, he mentions, how is it tha the Utility company can wait three months to pay you, but if you were late three months they would turn off your power. Quite ironic.

You can contact your state energy department, (hopefully you have one.)
For example, in New York there is NYSERDA, N.Y. State Energy
Research and Development Association. NYSERDA has rebate/grant programs and information about generating your own solar electric power and selling it back to the local utility.
We are expecting to install PV panels sometime in 2011 to reduce
our electric bill which averages about $80 per month now.
The program in our area works well and I am looking forward
to producing clean solar electric power and saving money at the same time.
You should also talk to local installers to find out what incentives are
available and also if your roof/property has the necessary exposure to
produce solar electricity effectively.
Good luck.

Thank you for your help, I do know of these places and where to go, just looking for actual testimonials from REAL people who have used the services and have actually collected from their utility company.
I have read about it, seen video's and the like, but not one REAL person, vs. spokes people at given companies.
Thanks Again! Let me know how it goes after your instal and your thoughts.. BTW, I did see somewhere where you can actually build the panels yourself. I don't think I am talented enough, but from what I read, it's about 25% of the cost of actually buying them completed.
Thanks,
