Youthful Prodigy for a Better World: Juan Lazaro Palaez

Postby Ed Ziomek » Thu Nov 23, 2006 8:14 pm

I don't think Juan Lazaro Palaez is on any Yahoo search engine yet.

I couldn't find any information on this Hispanic Concert Piano player, age 11 or 12 or so, who I just saw on satelite TV, whipping out complex concertos, one after the other, out of sheer memory.

Each hand was flying through intricate, simultaneous, synchronized arrangements, somehow in a wonderful flow of music I can only describe as "Beethovenesque". I tried counting the number of notes he struck in a thirty second period, and it had to be in the hundreds, much faster than the fastest I have ever seen.

Another youthful prodigy is upon us!

On this bleak thanksgiving, with so much trouble all around us, here a child is oblivious to the mess we world parents have given him, and he crushed the spell-bound audience.

And nobody knows who he is!

Thanksgiving for all of you, and all the youth of the world who can make things better.

Juan Lazaro Palaez!!! World class hero of musical peace.

Juan Lazaro Palaez, Piano man update

Postby Ed Ziomek » Fri Jul 09, 2010 11:10 pm

First of all, the sad, necessary spy swap has been done, and it just amazes me how two countries with everything to share, still are going at it, velvet gloves and all.

But in November 2006, I wrote an article on this website regarding a piano prodigy kid, Juan Lazaro Palaez, who blazed away at the piano. As of today, I have not been able to locate any piano examples on Youtube, where he is supposed to be these days.

But he is the same person I saw, now 4 years older, and has been identified as the son of the alleged spies, Juan Lazaro and Vicky Palaez, who have pleaded guilty, and I believe deported.

The father’s real name is Mikhail Anotonoljevich Vasenkov.

I guess the reason I couldn’t find his name is that …I guess, it doesn’t really exist.

Anyways, I assembled some (dated?) clips of the Prodigy kid who grew up, and whose parents pleaded guilty.

“The sons of Pelaez and Vasenkov, who had gone for decades by the name Juan Lazaro, were in court to watch them plead guilty.

Juan Lazaro Jr., 17, is a gifted pianist who has lived his whole life in the U.S., although he has spent considerable time in Peru, where his mother was born. Pelaez's other son, Waldo Mariscal, is an architect.”

Juan, piano man, keep on blazing those tunes!!! Good luck.
Music is my medicine too.

Note: A cleric was also deported this week, and his final words before boarding the flight were… “God Bless America”.
And I add, “Vigilance, we all should just get along.”

I just realized that the name "spam" is apparently considered "spam".

Oh well, c'est la vie".
