dxf import / export issue

Postby Andrea » Fri May 28, 2004 11:37 am

Hello. I'm having trouble with my dxf import. What's the correct extension? I may me missing it - I've been using pict import lately, as dxf files aren't showing up in the file list. This is fine for most projects, but I want to get a polygon mesh created in Vue 4 into DW. I can import a DXF file created in DW into Vue, no problem, but I need to go both ways. The Vue created dxf file opens fine in Artlantis. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrea

3DS seems to be a superior 3D format

3DS seems to be a superior 3D format, I imagine Vue handles 3DS format and I know AutoCAD does, if it is an option you may try it. It could also me a version problem, version ACAD14 DXF may be different from ACAD 2000 format. AutoCAD allows you to save out at different versions, but not import. They may still have filters/translators at the 'OpenDWG' alliance site, you may try looking there.
