I have recently discovered FreeCAD an open source CAD software. It is simple with 2D and 3D functions, parametric and BIM functions, and entirely scriptable with Python.
I have began to test it, and seriously, it is not bad at all. There are several functions that PowerCADD could take in consideration for its future evolutions.

The GUI looks better under Mac OS.
