Drip edge question

Postby hollerg » Sun May 17, 2009 9:51 pm

In replacing my fascia I find there is no subfascia.

It looks to me like I have two options so that the soffit will have better support. Have the roofing contractor:

a) install a drip edge with a longer flashing to cover the thicker subfascia

or

b) have the roofing contractor cut the OSB panels in half (parallel to the edge of the roof and install a panel cut slightly wider (offsetting the seams)

What would you do?

Did you make a decision about this already? It seems hard to visualize all the relationships you're describing without a sketch or snapshot or something...
