I am doing a thesis design on aquatics centre but am kinda stuck regarding the architectural issue.

What are the design issues with regard to an aq ctr that make it worth studying?

Thnx! Very Happy

I was thinking you could do case studies of existing aquatic centres such as Marineland and Seaworld.

Or, you could research which universities have marine biology/oceanography programs and find out what sort of facilities they have at the universities that host those programs (Probably in coastal regions of North america).

I would think that much of it depends upon what the use of the facility will be (what the program requirements are). For instance, a center located on a university campus will have different demands placed upon it than one intended for use by the surrounding community.

Generally speaking, you could include issues such as the requirements of a competition-sized facility (and all the costs that go along with it), or you could take the same sum and apply them to a facility that has special features (such as a ADA access, children's pools, elder/rehab facilities, etc).

Do you have any program requirements for the facility?

Take a look at some of these examples to see the kinds of issues surrounding the construction of a nautitorium:

There's tons of this stuff - so you should be well on your way.

Good Luck!
