Attached is a 3dmf file of a giant screw I modeled, just to see if I could do it.

The threads were the easiest part the make. I made a pointy outline with the polyline tool on the XZ plane, extruded it, and then Duplicate Mitered it to get the shape. But that produces an undesireable stepping shape to the threads, so I deleted all but the bottom mitred piece, selected one face and lifted it up by an amount equal to the number of mitred pieces divided into the height of one revolution of mitered pieces. Then I Duplicate Lineared the modified piece to create the finished threaded shaft.

The head was also a breeze, I just used an arc outline and extruded and mitred it.

The hard part was tapering in the last thread near the tip.

Lastly I scaled it down to a more easily viewed, but still giant for a screw, scale.

In all it took about 45 minutes to model, but I tend to be a slow modeller. Very Happy
