| I have tried several ways to place or import images into my powercadd files. Including using image files with transparent backgrounds and the only way I can see other objects in the drawing is to have everyting on one layer. This is ok but somewhat of any un organized way to work. Any suggestions? Latest PCadd expert package and a G5. |

A few choices come to mind. However, depending on the nature of the file being placed or imported and just what needs to be accomplished, other options may be available.
1) Put the raster data being Placed or Imported into the drawing on it's own layer. That layer could be at the bottm of the layer stack. This allows other objects to be on their own layers above the placed data and provides for a lot of control in organizing the drawing.
2) Raster images with transparent backgrounds will Import, Place, Open (etc.), with transparent bits = white. To change the white bits to nil (transparent) choose Tool menu > Convert to Bitmap. This would allow the raster data to be on top of object data. If the data is Placed or Imported requires being scaled down to fit your drawing conditions, it's best to apply Convert to Bitmap before the re-scaling operation.
Hope that helps - other choices may be available depending on just what you're trying to do.
