3d studio viz (material scaling problem)

i create my models in architectural desktop
walls are just lines in plan..then given a thickness according to their height
when i break a wall for a window...i just add little wall pieces above and below the windows.

you can see in the attached image (if we can attach images here) that the material, when applied in 3d studio viz r3i, scales depending on the length of the line...

what button or switch should i click on to make this..."uniform"?
any help is greatly appreciated.

The simple answer is that you need to add a UVW map modifier to both elements.

Have a look in the help files for this. under 'UVW modifier'

What I would do is add the UVW modifier to one of your elements size it so that the map is at the right scale (use the BOX type), then in the modifier stack of that element right click the UVW map and copy it. Select the second element paste it on to the second elements modifier stack and choose the copy option not the instance.
