I call this with a single word: BUG
I dont want to climb on mirrors to find the way to get now what I had before!
Engineered Software must quikly corrects this BUG, with thousands of excuses to use all! We pay to go forward, not backward! _________________ there are no problems, only solutions |

I'm also seeing the DXF scale problem on export and it's a killer for me. I send DXF files to China for CNC production, and it's hard enough dealing with China when things all work correctly The exported file is exactly 72x too large. It seems like there's a unit conversion problem from points to inches or something like that causing the problem.
Also, the software update mechanism doesn't seem to be communicating with a server properly. After doing a simple check for updates then proceeding to the more detailed check, the ES updater reports "Could not connect to update database" and also gives a SQL error. _________________ Brock Brandenberg

I create files for CNC routing and use layers for various things like differentiating tooling and keeping an editable version of text in a drawing. But taking away the visible layers only option has caused me to have to create multiple versions of drawings whereas before I could just hide a layer save as dxf and not have to manage multiple source files. |
What am I missing here?
Step one: Save as- DXF
Dialog box under Options- check version year
Hit "Save"
A dialog box then opens with three options:
Export:
_ Visible layers
_ Sheet Setup (dropdown menu)
_ Entire Drawing
Once selected, click OK or press Enter.
One can export visible layers only. That's my observation. _________________ John Cruet

| Are you on PC8? No such dialogue exists in the 5 copies of it we're running here at our office. Sure love having people working on PC7 have to move every time a .dwg is exported for a consultant. Great for productivity. Has ES seriously not addressed this yet? Or did we miss the boat somehow? I noticed the latest update makes sure we're supporting Palatino (my most favorite-est font). But we can't export visible layers? Priorities? |

| OK, for the next guy that comes here looking for the answer to this question- the latest update (8.0.7) has the fix mentioned above. The disk we just got from Mike two weeks ago had 8.0.1 on it- but we're updated now and life is good again. I'll go have a small helping of crow now. |

I dunno, maybe the fact that I posted that problem in April 2008?
So now I have 8.0.8 and it's mucking with my layers. All grouped objects no matter what layer they were created on end up on layer 0 in the dxf. The layers were created but contain nothing as all objects in each layer were part of a group. Each layer contains multiple groups and all objects, in each layer, are part of one group or another.
7.0.6 does not have this issue. _________________ Regards,
