The link below takes you to results of a NAAB survey. Question 14 gives you an idea of the education educators have and question 15 is licensure status.
The vast majority, 61.6% have an MArch & an additional 17.6% have doctoral degrees with 3.8% of those being DArch's.
These are the results of only 159 educators so I don't know how statistically relevant they are.
Also keep in mind that many schools only have MArch's so the apparent preference over a BArch is skewed.
I believe that many, if not most who have doctoral degrees, get them while teaching, not before getting their first professorship.
Finally, I would bet that the 6 professors who have a DArch probably teach or taught at UH.
Not to be ignored, nearly 70% of educators are licensed.
