Hello, I'm brand new to this board and I would appreciate some help. I had a porch built onto my home recently and I am not happy with it. I consulted with an architect prior to the porch being built and he drew a building plan for the porch. My main concern, (that I shared with the architect), was that the porch design and archtecture be consistant with that of my house and that the finished porch looked as though it was built originally with the house. The porch was designed with four column and one of columns in on the same plane as the front door (in other words it's in front of the front door). The reason for this is because the front door on my house is offset and not centered an the porch columns are centered. I've looked at numerous porches with columns and have not seen any where a column is located on the same plane as the front door. The columns are always located on either side of the front door. I'm not sure what my options are at this point, but I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I've attached two photos, one before the porch was built and one after. Thank you for your consideration, it's very much appreciated. Sincerely 41buick

adailide,

Yes, the photos are still there. Just go to the topic entitled "new porch need advice (photos attached), it's just two down from the topic that you responded to. I actually posted my topic twice and couldn't delete the first one, which is the one that you responded to.

Let me know what you think.

Sincerely

41buick
