Hi, my name is Michel AERTS, a french citizen, former US resident, now consulting company for the governement of Madagascar.
I pilot environmental projects since two years for the ministery of Environment, Water and Forest, Tourism and Energy. I propose alternative strategies and pilot the whole project.
I am intensively involved in the Bamboo issue, since it is a solution for deforestation in the country, also as a wastewater treatment alternative, but mostly as a new raw material to use in construction.
We work with INBAR guidelines and have already established a nationwide program to replant bamboo throughout the country.
The ministery of tourism is asking us to provide plans and building technique for bungalows, shelters, social housing.
I am supposed to start with few models; one architect was able to propose a suitable social housing model made of bamboo and mud.
For the tourist bungalows, I am looking for a person who is really experienced with this material and who could suggest building design as well as building technics with bamboo.
I would like to start exchanging with a volunteer person; depending on the work proposed, and as trust builds up, I could offer an interesting work opportunity with all facilities to reside in the country.
I do not mind wether the person speaks french, spanish or english.
Also, any person who do not wish to work in this country but would be interested in participating to our program is very welcome to exchange ideas, plans, building secrets etc...
One can see on our site that we are very ecologically oriented, all of our projects have a social side (employees will be train to self build their own house for few dollars..). Thank you in advance for any tip to send to :
