A. yesterday was able to Save As JPEG. Today I cannot ...get message "XTNL unable to load : Write JPEG". How do i correct this.
I reinstalled OS 8.1.

B. Also, I set commands to my preference and then they disappear... is this due to a restart vs. shutting down.?

Tyghe,

You say you are using version 3.0. It would take most of us some research to figure out/ remember exactly how these issues worked that long ago. You might try Engineered Software because it sounds like your PowerCADD files (XTNLS etc.) are not in the right place or missing.

Or the preference files are corrupted. You should have a PowerCADD Preferences and PowerCADD Commands (if I remember correctly) in the Preferences folder in the System Folder. You should have externals in the XTNL folder in the PowerCADD folder. Try taking your Commands out of the preferences folder. See if a new one that works is recreated.

But ES should be able to figure out the basic issues for you.

Although I've used Version 2.0 occasionally to update archive files. I haven't used it extensively for a long time. Changes to the OS can cause things to no longer function in older software.

BTW Speaking of old software anyone hear of Gibbs CAD software? Someone was asking about a dongle for that. They were still using OS6 and need an ADB dongle. The SW company went PC and is of no help.

With PC3 we used to use the Save As EPSF command, which may have been only available with the Translators Externals add-on. Most print companies could then plot this file, but fills all plotted out solid.
