are there examples available on-line of new residential construction in bauhaus-inspired "classic modern" style (following gropius, neutra, etc)?

But why your fixation with Gropius..... in terms of architectural figures, this is a guy who did three noteworthy buildings, then ran in place during his American career, although his early "white" houses here in the states were nice compostions. There are far better modern architects who had a residential practice, which Gropius did not. I would support your inclusion of Neutra, then would add Wright, Koening, Schindler, Ain, the handful of Case Study architects, Keck and Keck......

Then there are a ton of regional architects who worked in the modern vernacular at the mid-century. They typically did this to start their practice and then eventually abandoned residential for more lucarative commerical work. Locally (Dayton) Richard Levin in the early to mid 60's. Richard is retired, but is FAIA and won he gold medal individually and for his practice. None of his residential work has been documented. On a recent trip to Chicago, I was able to purchase a little book on Houston Architects Neuhaus and Taylor and their early residential work. Very cool stuff.

IMHO - Its this regional stuff we need to start to document and preserve. Last year, I was able to include a 1960 Modern house (Very Case Study like) on the local Home Tour. Very interesting to see peoples reaction to this house after they toured a couple of 150 year old farmhouses. Laughing
