I'm installing a sprial staircase in a residential house in northern westchester county, new york (croton falls) and I was told I needed to have an architect draw up the plan first but I am on a tight budget and can't really afford a high priced pro architect so I thought a student or someone just starting out would be interested in such projects... For pay of course. Though, I'm not sure how the whole thing works... Will drawings from an student architect be sufficient for the town??? I don't know. What do you think? Let me know ASAP for I am ready to start this project very soon.

Hello,
Have you currently started construction? Also, what county and city are you in? I do a little drating on the side, and dont charge much. I have 5 years drafting experience combined with architectural and civil drafting, with an associates degree in architectural technology. Regarding your spiral staircase, i could look into what the city/county in your area is exactly looking for. Sometimes, these things need stamped and signed by either an architect or engineer. If you would like any help with this, feel free to contact me with any questions. Regardless of your decision, i hope your staircase turns out well.
