What realy decide the form is the materials and the building technikes.
The highrise of today is a rather a boring issue --- a very narrow concept where most of it is decided by the engineering issues , one floor as the next leaving only the color of the outher surfaces to express the innovation and further future expression ; not before building technikes chance will you see real changes , acturly highrise buildings are a gray mass of engineered steel frame structures and very little are allowed in terms of creativity ; personaly I belive that new building technikes will spark architecture with much more quality in any sense, they will be low not highrise carry detail quality not uniform mass production but everything what these steel towers don't offer.
It just ask new building technikes, low cost and that engineering is shared by the architect , ---- that the architects is not so arogant towerds the engineering issues, is inspired by new building technikes. Today everything is possible then think about why so much continue out the dead end road. |
