That's an excellent question. The symptom with my computer was the entire menu area that is filled with hatches was empty, but there was a "trace" of the window that should be there with a zero width. ...

I keep a zipped copy of the entire preference folder located at:

Users/(your_home_folder)/Library/Preferences/PowerCADD

just for these cases. I'm not sure which one was corrupted.

I had all of my hatches disappear in PCAD 8 about a week ago. I used a backup of my preferences and all was OK. I'm not sure what happened.
