Sometimes, architecture can make you feel good about the world. In New York, one such example to me is the Chrysler building, maybe unique in all the world for its style and grace... makes you feel alive.

Or photography pumps you up,and for me, Ansel Adams is in that category.

For music, in the last 30 days, I would like to mention a particular song, from - forum abuse -.

I don't even know the name of this latest song, but she begins and ends the song with... "No fighting, no fighting".

Her grandparents were from Lebanon, and she was raised in Baranquilla, Colombia, each location with recent histories of major violence and turmoil.

This particular song mixes hip-hop, reggaeton, Colombian-vi-yo-na-ta (sp?), and folk flavors, even a touch of Arabesque clarinet as if from some Moroccan casbah! The song mentions Haiti, Colombia, and Baranquilla.

Cross-cultural, cross-musical flavors, cross-continental.

I think it is a sensational, world-music blockbuster, especially knowing the background of the artist and the life she endured to bring it to us. I have heard she helped the poor in her spare time, even before her rise to regional acclaim!

I don't have the name of the song yet, but let me leave the readers with sounds and views from Baranquilla, Colombia.

Two nights ago, Thursday night, the Billboard Latin Music Awards featured many artists, - forum abuse - among them.

Apparently - forum abuse -'s sexy belly-dancing, on-stage presentation of "Hips don't Lie" ("No fighting song"), brought down the house!!! in a duet withWyclef Jean.

The next day, newscasters were speechless, thunderstruck... a performance of the year... maybe the best in several years...her song almost seems to re-define what is wonderful, magical, sensational, loving, music!!! And, if that wasn't enough...she won 5 awards for another song, "Fijacion Oral", another duet with Alejandro Sanz!

My pick? "Hips don't Lie", as an international music sensation.
