I am struggling to find a CAD program that allows me to change the line settings to give the appearance that the drawing was done freehand or sketched; I know there is a program capable of doing this its just a matter of finding it. Is it possible to achieve this effect in Architectural Desktop 2005? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know one of you CAD experts out there know the answer~! Razz Wink

Hello Damaja, If you are using ADT, there is a tool called Napkin Sketch that will add bumpy lines and line extensions over your exiating line work. You can set it for one, two or three lines of sketching and these lines are created on a separate layer so you can manipulate them or the underlying lines independently. You need to think through what you do with this, though, because your file size can increase dramatically ... especially 3D files.

Another excellent option is a program called Sketchup. It has several sketch modes and works with 3D solids. You can download a free fully working version for 8 hours of trial and the purchase cost is very reasonable. I think it is the best program for developing the massing of structures and quick visualizations.

I hope you find this to be some help.

Good answers from cattledog. I usually seperate the items that I am going to use Napkin on as to not make my file size too large. Just an idea.
