As I am writing a dissertation on narrative architecture, I´ve found out, to both joy and frustration, that it is a term of great usage and with an even greater selection of subjective understandings.
In an attempt to map and distinguish between different variations of the term (spatial narrative/narration, architectural/architectonic narration/narrative etc), it would be helpful to me if anyone with a good understanding of how they perceive the terms would define them for me, preferable with sources to theory or physical manifestation.
I think I have boiled it down to about 5 main uses, but would appreciate more info/input from someone outside my own head. |

Hi,
I am currently undertaking my second year in architecture school and have spent the whole year grappling with this concept of narrative architecture. So far, non of the program briefs that I have proposed have been accepted and my design work is really suffering as a consequence.
Arnearch, I was hoping you could give some pointers of what is meant by narrative architecture and what it is that my tutors might be looking for. I would be greatful if you could forward your dissertation to me as I am struggling to find any literature that clarifies what is meant by this concept and how it is/has been implemented.
Otherwise I would love to hear from anybody else who could give me some pointers.
