I am new here- I hope this question is appropriate for this forum
anyways, i'm trying to decide between two designs for my kitchen backsplash.
Option 1: far wall would be an accent wall with 1"x1" glass mosaic tiles on entire wall. the other two walls (which connect to this wall on either end) will be white ceramic subway tile- 3"x6" (glossy finish) on the entire wall.
Option 2: all three walls will have the same subway tiles as above, but instead of the accent wall, there would only be three rows of mosaic tile running along all three walls horizontally, running about 6 inches up from the countertops (most likely there would be 2 rows of subway tile and then a row of 3 mosaic tiles). hope that makes sense.
does either design jump out at you as being better?thanks!

Steph
You need to draw interior elevations of the room both ways..... use a colored pencil to render the elevations.
You really have to be able to see it ..... not describe it .... to make these types of decisions.
Probably not what you want to hear......
It still comes down to being a subjective decision. There is no right or wrong. You might like it the rest of us might hate it........ Make sure you are happy.....
Personally - I am not one for "Accent" walls using tiles as you describe and I would probably design something closer to Option #2. What makes the glass mosaic special is the limited use..... a whole wall is just a whole wall. You lose the special quality of the glass tile. |

I agree. If you don't want to draw it you can wait for the time to install it and do a mock up with the actual material to help you get a better visualization. _________________ -Chris Stewart
