I thought that most architects and building professionals, after spending so much time creating their works of art, should know that so many of our creations are damaged and even destroyed by one lurking Demon- and that's preventable flooding in homes and businesses that occurs from uncontrolled leaks form water heaters, washing machines, dishwashers, even ice makers in refrigerators. We never pay attemtion to this menis it until its too late and the devastation is done.
One of my earlier clients, whose apartments have individual washing machine/dryers, had a washing machine hose burst on the fourth floor, and he lost the walls and ceilings on the three floors below- more than $180,000 worth of damage.
There is a company that makes, for an unbelievable $250, a device that prevents 100% of these kinds of losses, and I now spec it out for every project- and it has already saved twelve, (12), clients from disaster.
