Hello,
I thought users might be interested in an academic research project at the University of Bath, looking into the performance of straw bales as a low carbon building material.
We're building a BaleHaus using pre-fabricated panels of straw bales on the Uni campus. You can watch the progress of the build on Strawcam at: http://www.bath.ac.uk/features/balehaus/strawcam/ from Monday 20th July.
Our researchers are investigating the properties of houses made from straw bale such as humidity levels, insulation and collecting data over 12 months to assess its suitability as a building material. For more info, please visit: http://www.bath.ac.uk/features/balehaus
