Kevin,
Is there any way to make the search a little more friendly? I was just kicking the tyres and find the strict requirement of using wildcards (*) a little tough.
For example, searching for "bezier" does not detect the plural "beziers". Most search engines these days have the ability to find these partial hits without wildcards. Is there any way to improve the smarts of the search facility? Perhaps a third option to find partial hits would be useful.
Regards,
Derek
BTW: I think this forum is a tremendous improvement and congratulate you for making the jump. I add my thanks and gratitude to the list of others with similar thoughts. Well done. |

Yes, I agree. The strict searching that's part of the base forum system is traditional, precise -- and restrictive by contemporary standards.
Over time, we look forward to a variety of search enhancements, including free text searching across the combined archives of old and new forums. |

For free-text searching of these DesignCommunity forums, follow the Search link at the bottom of each page, and go the custom Google search section, titled "Search the Web with Google at ArchitectureWeek".
Enter your text to search, check on the radio button to the left of the "Search DesignCommunity.com" option, and then click on the button "Google Search".
We tested this and it works for us. Let us know how it works for you! |
