Searching for images of the Farnsworth house today, I though I would check out the website for the house.

Bad News - the Fox River is more than 14 foot above its normal level. The house is 5 foot above grade, but not enough to save it.

You need to see the photos on the house website. Unbelievable.

The house has flooded before. I love this house and the site is clearly part of the entire design, but you have to begin to wonder if we shouldn't think about relocating it to higher ground..... albeit in a natural setting as the original site.

According to the website - the house is closed for the rest of 2008 and they have already started looking for donations for the restoration.
