Hello all. I've been having some trouble getting AutoCAD 2007 files into DW on my Mac. I seem to be able to import both DWG and DWF files into DW on a PC, but its not working on my Mac (nothing imports). If I save the PC file with the imported files, I have trouble working with it on the Mac. As a workaround, I've been plotting and requesting ACAD files as PDF's, opening and editing them in Adobe Illustrator, and exporting as PIC files. Seems to work OK, but I always have to rescale everything in DW, which is a hassle when I have a bunch of files to put into the model to work from. Illustrator is really slow with the PDF's, especially when there are a lot of hatches, so if I could avoid this step it would save some time. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,

Since upgrading to 10.4, the shadow casting in lights and textures is not working as it should. I'm guessing its something to do with Quicktime? Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Andrea, sorry to hear you're having difficulty with Lights & Textures. It's probably not an issue with QuickTime or even QuickDraw 3D.
We've seen something starting with Mac OS 10.4 that might be what you're describing. Following a successful shadow casting calculation in Lights & Textures, the model window does not update with the new rendering.
The work-around we've found is saving a PICT file (File, Export 2D, Pixel Image... command), which will include the rendered image.
If you're seeing something different than this, please let us know what's going on. |
