We have released a beta of SpecifiCAD, an AutoCAD/ADT plug-in that works in the background that brings up thumbnails from the McGraw-Hill Construction (MHC) Network for Products (Sweet's) website of related building products to what the user is manipulating in the background. If the user wants additional information on a particular product, clicking on the thumbnail brings opens a browser page to the MHC web page for that product, and the user can navigate to specifications and CAD details when present.

The free SpecifiCAD beta can be downloaded here. We would appreciate any feedback as to how to make this workflow more useful to designers. For example, how critical is it to offer 3D CAD objects for this particular process?

thanks, Chuck Han
