as I always say, i think New York's old stuff is where it's at. However, there is some quirky interesting stuff still, and some of the best Modernism. My favourites-----
Perry West of course comes in at number one----

Conde Nast (not an amazing building, but in Times Square which is an interesting little hive of Modernity....)

Thanks for reminding me that I need to get back to the City! Its amazing how much can change in 15 years. And you've just scratched the surface.
A couple more for the list: Polshek's tower...is it 500 Park Place(?), as well as his Seamen's Museum. Then there are the timeless classics of the Ford Foundation Building, and the Whitney. |

I'm not so familiar with 500 Park Ave- I'll check it out
likewise the Seamen's Inst.
the Ford Foundation is incredible (but now getting on in years...)

Nice group of pictures, Mr Fletcher, and good photography, too. Thank you -- I was a suburban New Yorker in the 'fifties but have been on the west coast for 25 years and haven't seen the City in decades. Liked the glazing patterns on the Post Luminaria -- working-man's Perry West indeed! Give us more?
Whatever happened to plans to double the width of the Whitney? (Sorry to be so out of touch!)
