Can anyone please help me out ????
I am an architect and having a work experience of 1yr in India. I am now in USA and is looking out for a job though my work is good I am not selected on the basis that i donot have a US work experience.
Can anyone please tell me how can i get a work experience until I get work here.
Or do any firm allow for a voluntary work at their office ????
I would sincerely appreciate if anyone could please help me out for finding a solution for my problem.
Thanks,

First of all - you should never volunteer your services. You undermine not only your own value but the value of every other architect or professional that is struggling to make a living/name for themselves.
Secondly, good work rewards itself, so when you do get an opportunity to work for someone else - do a good job – for a fee. Don’t work for free. If your credential don’t meet American requirements go back to school and upgrade your credentials to meet the required standards.
If your work truly is exceptional it will speak for itself, without your translation or your willingness to work for free. Any employer that is willing to have you work in there office without paying you is not worth working for. They are not out there to help you!
You also have the option of finding your own work; if you are licensed and willing to work for free use that energy to work for yourself. This may mean researching job opportunities, finding clients or working on design competitions.
If I haven’t said it enough let me repeat my self one final time.
DON’T WORK FOR FREE!!!! |
