The power of implementing green technology on a wide scale across the U.S. is well illustrated in this article:

As can be seen here, applying green technology can have an incredible stimulus on the economy and much larger then an artificial federal stimulus bill. And the money for this green technology is not only public, but also comes from private sources, thus alleviating and reducing the public debt from the equation. And it brings many economic benefits as well:

Other projects which have been proposed and once built, will also have an incredible affect on the economy and growth, such as posted here in this global project:

The stimulus on the economy from this project alone would be even more massive then the green building and efficiency program expanded nationwide. It will bring in hundreds of related technologies as well as the possibility for exploration of space. It will foment the birth and growth as well of thousands of new related companies, spurring also a new era prosperity. And the estimated cost would be 16 billion a year over a period of 10 years, to bring a net value of 1.6 trillion over 10 years, (considering the project evaluation once built) creating also just as many jobs as implementing green building and efficiency.
In comparison, the cost of expanding a green building program would be much larger:

The capital for this global project mentioned would be a combination of public and private as well. Preferably, with a priority given to funding it solely via private capital. (The green building program would require a combination of public and private capital as mentioned above.)
