Dear Designers, Builders, and Dwellers,
ArchWeek Residential brings you housing news and analysis weekly from the editors of ArchitectureWeek.
If your experience of swimming through the strong tides and sudden undertows of this roiling economy is anything like ours, looking toward our big American holiday weekend... I think you've earned some time out of the current, just relaxing on the beach!
The most important things in life are not based on money. So while we're faithfully tracking the details of a lot of tough news this week related to the challenging housing economy, we're going to take good professional notice of these apparent facts, and then set them down until Monday.
Please have a great weekend, relax, and let's dive back in next week at least a little bit refreshed!

Buildings and the Climate Bill - ArchitectureWeek, 2009.0624
http://www.archweek.com/2009/0624/news_1-1.html
It's important to "get things right" when a new building is
constructed. More so than perhaps anything else we create, new
buildings will be with us for a very long time.
The greenhouse gas cap-and-trade section of the Waxman-Markey
climate and energy bill gets most of the attention, as it should,
but the bill has many other provisions, some of which are
directly important to the building industry.
