1. Make sure MacDraft can import DWG's. DWG is the native format for AutoCad.

2. Make certain that the DWG file is of a nature that MacDraft can import. If your version of MacDraft was issued, for example, in 2007, it will not be able to import files made by AutoCad 2007 or later. In this case, you will have to have the supplier of the file save the document in an earlier version of AutoCad.

If it is a newer DWG file and they have a way to install and run a Window's program they can download and install the free AutoCAD viewer AutoDesk Trueview which can also open a dwg and save back to any version. Worth a try.

Thanks for the hint- I'm going to try TrueView in my Windows partition.

It's not too bad for a viewer/converter. I tell my outside users about it when I get tired of saving back to '04 format for them Wink
