I have an assingmant to make a project of Faculty of social sciences. I have two amphitheaters which I digged in the ground , but still have a height as a ground floor, if you understand. So when I look at them , their height is as same as the ground floor. But from the classrooms I have a view on the roof of those amphitheaters. I don't like the idea of that kind of view so I thought to cover that roof by grass, flowers and benches but I don't know how to solve the roof construction in that case. What should be the thickness of the slab ? It's sceletal construction. Those are huge amphitheaters , which should have special construction because columns can't go through them , only trough the walls.

I am sorry for my english.

greetings.

Interesting example here of a suspended green roof which just possibly, maybe could be applied to a stadium roof design

However, instead of grass maybe you should consider a lightweight sedum roof. Sedum can survive in just a few centimetres of growing medium therefore the weight is relatively less.

Kalzip, for example, have developed a simple green roof system for a metal standing-seam roof.
