Someone disassembled bamboo flooring on the beam. He wonders if he can keep the beam and install laminate flooring(L) on the beam. In fact his idea is not correct.

L is too thin to bear the walk pressure if the direct support system is beam instead of concrete or wood board.

The laminate plank would be fitted to each wooden strip with nails if it were installed on beam. And the nails would be knocked into the groove of locking system of laminate planks. Then the locking system would be damaged and each plank couldn’t work well with others because most laminate planks are connected with each other with the locking system.

The following way should be ok if laminate flooring has to be installed above the beam: Fix some flat and dry wooden board on the beam and then install L. The thickness of wooden board should be at leas 1.2cm.
