I use the Wildtools Leader Text Tool. Lately I've been noticing a change and I'm wondering if the tool has been changed or if there's something weird going on in my computer.
It used to be that if you wanted to move an existing text and leader line together, use had grab it on the leader line or point of the arrow. If you wanted to adjust the relationship of the text to the leader line, you clicked over the text and then only the text moved.
Lately, I've been having trouble getting just the text to move. I click on the text and the whole thing moves. I have to try several times before I can get just the text to move. Is anyone else having this issue? And is it an intentional change?
I just experimented more with it and it looks like that now you have to first select the item and then you can move the text only. It looks like this may be another in a disburbing trend to require more steps to get things done in PowerCadd. The 'Move Points' tool comes to mind, which has become much more complicated to use. I need to post about that sometime. _________________ Mac Pro, 9 Gig RAM,

Click on the text or the leader to select the group. Then hold down command (apple) and click and drag the text where you want it to go. |

The "WildTools Leader Text Tool" is really just the PowerCADD tool installed in the WildTools palette and it does a little thing after you place the object to make sure the text is located in the 'right place', at least to my way of thinking.
When you're moving the object or the text, then you're using the PowerCADD Selection Arrow tool, which is also available at the top of the WildTools palette. But, again, this is the PowerCADD tool.
I just checked it here and I don't see anything going wrong but there is a very slight difference in the technique that you use and the result that you will get.
If you have an unselected leader text object, click on it and immediately drag away, everything will move. But if you click on the text, pause slightly, and then drag, only the text will move.
I think that's a really good feature and good behavior in the tool, and it's similar to what used to be in PageMaker and now InDesign in that when you select text to move it, you can get a slightly different display if you pause briefly before moving the mouse.
So I don't think this is a problem at all but rather a well-designed and executed feature in the software.

I've been having a problem where the text, which is supposed to be aligned left, falls out of alignment when I grab the left-hand box to stretch the leader line. This should not happen. Selecting Left alignment corrects the problem, but I should not have to do this. _________________ John Cruet
