Everyone has seen the Mythbusters biometric busting episode, and it's true some fingerprint door locks can be easily fooled.

However the biggest risk IMO Razz is that cheap manufacturers in developing countries are making 'locks' that are nothing but secure - not just digitally, but in their very form and make up.

For example, a fingerprint lock might also have a key hole for convenience, but if the lock is not bump-proof, there is no real security. The best biometric algorithm is voided by a poor quality barrel!

It's best to get one of the tested fingerprint locks from someone that has a Master Locksmith security licence. The licence looks like this security licence and can be checked against police records by entering the licence number in the police website like this: check licence.

So design isn't everything when you are talking about doors and locks security is more valuable than we sometimes realise!
