LEED Documentation can be an arduous task and one that no one on the design team wants to take on as an extra responsibility. A LEED Champion is a newly developed yet crucial role when going through the LEED process. A good reason why projects fall from gold to silver is because they lack the oversight from a LEED expert.
That LEED expert will have insight into all of the design team roles and can work to improve upon their concepts as well as realize the potential a decision has with regards to LEED.
