| Hi Everyone, I need advice about College and University. I'm a student of American River College in CA, Sacramento, and I want to become an Architect but I don't know weither I should get my AA degree in college and then transfer to University or should i get my certificate of Design and Engineering Technology and then transfer to University without completing General Education...Please help me out in this sutiation. Thank you! |

A lot will depend on the schools you want to go to. Many, if not all, will not accept transfer of over a certian amount of units unless you have your AA/AS.
From what I know about certificates, they are rather useless for transfer.
As far as I know, most architecture schools will not admit you any time other than fall and it's way too late for this fall.
Do you know where you want to go?
How far are you from your AA?
To get the most out of your JC time, you really should go for an AS, not an AA.
Whatever you decide, the key is knowing what will and won't transfer. I just took a look at the program and it looks like very little will tranfer other than GE.
You must check transfer agreements with your potential universities. If an agreement does not exist for a school you're looking at, you need to do more legwork.

| well its two year program so i finished the first year and after the second year I'll do my general ed. I started my major first just so i can start working while i'll do the general ed. |
