How do I calculate the amount of light entering through an opening?Can anyone help me out?say a circular window with a diameter of 1m.

Do a search on google or whatever of "measuring daylighting" and other key words you may come across during your study.

You could make a physical model and use a light meter, or use a virtual model and some environmental software
