Hey, guys,
This is Nick, from Architectural Society of China, I was planning a conference and expo which can bring the latest architectural designing ideas of famous countries to China, like Australia, USA, Italy, Japan, etc.
But I don't know if the overseas architectural designers are interested in China market? and in what way are they interested? |

| Take a drive down in Shanghai or Beijing and see all the wonderful structures designed by non-Chinese architects. Why would you question whether foreign architects are interested? I worked in a company that did a lot of work in China, from what I witnessed, both sides are happy to do business with each other. What I do question is why is the Chinese community embracing foreign designers and not foster the growth of their own. Am I wrong or is there no strong emergence of Chinese designers? If so, why is that? Many of the new buildings in the Beijing I've seen take total departure from historical vernacular. Or on the other end of the spectrum, the new buildings try to take the historical details too literal and it becomes a contrived attempt at best. |
