I am an architect from Greece. I have my own architecture company and i have done many projects in Greece and some projects in other European countries. I feel that is time for me to explore the USA & Canada. I dont seek work at another employee. I am just wondering what would be the best place with the biggest residential development to visit and do some research for a future move of ym company..?? Preferably near a large city.. Would you be kind to enlighten me a bit? I know that the market is going through a small crisis right now but i think that by late 2009 - early 2010 it will go up again. So to sum up my question is:
" Which is/are the best city/cities that will have a good residential development over the next few years? "
Thanx in advance for all your answers. |

Globber, I would highly recommend the NYC metropolitian area.
While it's true the real estate/development market has softened a bit, it has still remained viable in and around New York City. Other areas of the U.S. have not faired as well mainly because they do not have the financial engine of Wall Street and major commercial businesses to drive growth and expansion. The outlying areas around Manhattan have experienced a major residential/commercial building boom as pressure from escalating prices per sq. ft. for buildings and land have increased in the heart of the city.
Jersey City and Hoboken, New Jersey are excellent examples of the continued transformation of formerly run down adjacent areas into a thriving communities. The 10 - 15 minute commute into Manhattan and classic brownstone, townhouse and factory structures are a big plus.
I believe this Metropolitian area will continue to rate high marks for opportunites in jobs, cultural affairs, education and economic expansion as conditions improve over the next several years.
Good luck with your relocation search. |

Vegas or Phoenix and mixed user development maybe
there is a shift from sprawl to hi density, i would imagine this type of development would be popular in a smaller country like Greece? _________________ The most necessary/useful piece of learning is that which unlearns what is untrue: 'evil'

| Thank you both for your answers. As for Las Vegas, i have heard good words about. Dubai is a solution to my problem but i am unaware of the dangers and the way the community works there so i would prefer to go with an american or canadian solution.. |
