What are the implications for architectural photography? Can I make a calendar from my architectural images without securing copyright permission from the building owners? How about my photos of the Golden Gate Bridge or the Grand Canyon or sunrise over Death Valley?
See this related Ford Motor Company legal action regarding photos and publication.
http://www.adrants.com/2008/01/ford-slaps-brand-enthusiasts-returns.php
"While brands certainly don't want people using their products, logos and other related imagery to create products of their, own, the hammer that Ford legal dropped on the Black Mustang Club seems a bit heavy handed. Recently the club created a calendar which contained images of club members' cars photographed by the members themselves. Ford didn't take kindly to this and asked CafePress, the service the group had chosen to print the calendars, to kill the project claiming all the images in the calendar are the property of Ford...including the Black Mustang Club logo." _________________ When building or manufacturing always ask, "How will we recycle that?" - JWmHarmon |

What is amazing is that the calendar used photographs of the Ford owners club's own cars - so presumably I am not entitled to use my own photographs of my own car (not a Ford, thank goodness).
Or to put it another way, if you photograph your wife, you had better be prepared to pay Royalties to her parents .....
The "owners" of the Pyramids as intellectual property have been dead for rather a long time.
All that will happen is that people will stop using images of the Pyramids or any historical Egyptian images - and those who own Fords should consider a Class Action for the payment of advertising revenue from Ford because they all travel around advertising Ford's image on their vehicles. _________________ Richard Haut has worked with the architectural profession for over 25 years and produces the weekly Richard Haut's Competitions, which has given architects details of many thousands of projects for which they can apply across Britain and Europe. |

Yes even patents become public property at some time, but all that claiming rights about the pyramids , is maybe only to enforce the claims for cultural treasures ,just forcing the issue and pointing to a few facts about who profited heavily allready by a revolving fasion in aincient belongings.
Copyright is what shuld protect those who maneage to renew or add valuable news. Make it possible for the artist to get his bread and the trouble is, that undermining or neglecting these rights , newer profited anyone. |

PC posted this to scare us and to and most likely to suggest my GLOBAL PYRAMID PROJECT will not be built, as it would be copyright infringement. All I have to say, PC is that this applies only to exact copies of anything. As soon as the interior, something in the design is different, they can no longer sue for copyright infringement. And the GLOBAL PYRAMID PROJECT is in no way a copy of the pyramids. Further, they will have much difficulty to enforce this and even the pyramid in Las Vegas, admitedly, could not be sued also, as the interior is completely different from the pyramids in Egypt. |

| Or even better, agrea to the claims, go out and praise the pyramides and tell why paying the royalities is both grandiose and visioanry. Say you are willing to pay, pay for all the good things pyramides brought. |

At times it seems someone has hacked into PC's account, as it is not his style of writing at times..... |

Maybe the Pyramids in Egypt can support the Global Pyramid, then we can be partners, and they can collect their royalties. |
