We are curious if you have seen any issues with PowerCADD running OS 10.5 (Leopard). We are aware of few issues internally, but realize because everyone uses PowerCADD differently you may have observed some issues that we have not seen.

The only minor issue I have noticed is with the print dialog box. (I had noted this in an earlier thread, though elaborate a bit more here.)
When I choose print and dialog box comes up, I am able to choose it again and another box comes up (I first noticed this when I simply held the keys down too long.). The first looks like the familiar Tiger dialog, the second looks more like the Leopard one with the preview window to the left, though there is no PowerCADD option. If I hit OK with the second box, PC crashes. If I close it and hit OK in the first box, the printing is fine.
Also, if I have a drawing open on a second monitor, when I hit the print command, the resulting dialog box is missing the lower part as if it is blanked out, making the Print Area command inaccessible. I have to close it, move the drawing over to the primary monitor, after which it works OK. |

So no one is experiencing any issues?

I've been giving PC7/WT8 pretty heavy use the last while since I installed Leopard, and have not noticed anything except the print dialog issue.
Working like a charm!

As stated elsewhere - I am running PC 6 on a new 15" MacBook Pro running 10.5.1. Nothing much here, but I personally haven't put this machine thru any real workout yet.
I will try to spend more time on the machine the days my assistant is not here so I can give you a fair report. |

I am running PC 6 on 10.5.1.
I cannot change the layer colors from black.
Otherwise works fine. |

Just tested this on the MacBook Pro - Can't change colors for Layers. Black only.
I would assume its highly unlikely this will be addressed by EngSw since PC 6 is an older version. |

Hi.
I have several users reporting frequent crashes under Leopard (10.5.1) running on G5 boxes, using PowerCADD 7.0.4.
The Activity Monitor seems to indicate that PowerCADD slowly (over a couple of hours) gobbles up all of the available CPU and RAM until it freezes.
Engineered Software says that this is a problem with Leopard that MAY be resolved with 10.5.2. They also said that the Location bar is a prime suspect. My users report that turning the Location bar (in Drawing Setup) does help, but that crashes still occur, just less frequently.
Anyone else having this sort of problem? |

We have verified and Layer color in PowerCADD 7 does work under Leopard 10.5.1.
We have also checked and verified on the memory leak with Leopard 10.5.1 and everyone running Leopard and PowerCADD 7 should be having the memory leak problem. This is a reported issue that should be corrected in an update from Apple. We recommend quitting PowerCADD 7 occasionally to regain the memory lost.

I am using PC 6.2.1 on Leopard 10.5.1 on an Intel Imac.
I have been experiencing frequent PC crashes, they only seem to be happening while i am drawing beziers. I use beziers quite a bit and if i start working too fast with them i start getting the crashes. |

I have the same issue with the print dialog box, but it only happens when I am working on a second monitor. If I drag the drawing back to the primary monitor, it works OK.
Regardless of the monitor however, I do have the issue of multiple print dialog boxes coming up if I hold Apple-P down too long.
I have been told that these are not PC-related, but rather to the printer drivers. I have the most up-to-date drivers installed (though not all are noted as Leopard compatible), yet it happens on all the printers I use. The multiple print dialog boxes does not happen in any other applications, which makes me think it has got to be a PC issue.
Anyone else have similar behaviour? |

Greg - Dual monitor here as well. The cropping only occurs on the "Powercadd" selection in the pulldown menu. All of the others work, layout, paper handling etc etc.
I dragged it to another monitor, no change.
I was able to duplicate the multiple print dialog boxes as well - easy workaround - don't hold the buttons down so long! |

Yeah, I know I have a rather heavy finger at times! However I don't know if you noticed but the first dialog box which comes up looks like the Tiger one, all the others for me look more like the Leopard format (slightly wider with different information in them). I just close them, but f I hit OK on any of them other than the first one, PC crashes. |

I'm having the same multiple print-dialogue-box issue that Greg is experiencing. I realized this morning that the response from the computer is slow- I only need to touch cmd-P briefly, but because the dialogue box takes a second or two to actually show up, I have a tendency to hold the buttons down longer. Perhaps because I use the option-cmd-P combo for the Drawing Setup menu box. The hold-down is needed to override the zoomer key combination of option-cmd.
I confirmed that I have no problem with the layer color changing. I haven't been on PCadd for enough hours to see the memory drain- perhaps four or five at most.
New 24" 2.4 Ghz iMac this week. Still only 1 gig of RAM (he he). All software updates.
Printing to my ethernet 488ca is screwed up, but that is another maddening topic. |
