The way I did it was to open the .eps in illustrator, then use the magic wand tool to delete as much of the background as I could and saved it as a .ai document
Then I used External Referencing to place it in the drawing (learned you can xref a .ai into powercadd 7) to see where the background parts were that I had missed or any other cling-ons. As I changed the drawing in Illustrator, I'd just update the xref's in powercadd to view the changes until it was just right. At that point, I got rid of the xref and placed the .ai directly in the drawing.
Attached is the .ai of a Live Oak - feel free to use it.

Thanks Jason that's very nice. Now can we get about 10 more of those in different shapes?
I thought this process might end up with polygons. It's still a pdf image in PowerCADD. So there's no way to manipulate or edit in PowerCADD. Can you who have translucency (v. 7) apply that to this object?

Here's the PowerCADD 6 file for the car.
You'll have to fix the headlight area.

Thanks, that is very cool!
So you DO get polygons in PowerCADD and I guess the way to do that is to paste from Illustrator, if you have that.

Just download and install the Desktop Edition. You can vectorize any image you'd like and try the program out before deciding if you want to buy or not.
The only limitation in the unregistered version is that the save feature is disabled, so while you can preview the results inside the program you cannot export them.
