i just bought a house and my garage is attached to the shed and the roof is like a letter m /\/\ the water did not have a proper runoff and rotted away part of the wall to change the roof pitch at all i need permits from the town which requires plans and blah blah i just want to re shingle the roof and repair any damage how do i make a proper runoff just putting a bend in a 24" piece of aluminum and laying it down the middle pitched toward the back is all i could think of any suggestions would be an extreme help i live in eastern long island so i get snow rain ice etc

The honest answer is, the shed should be relocated elsewhere...no two roofs should adjoin in the fashion you described,...it's a basic "never do it that way" scenario and no matter what you do, it will cause problems in the future. However, that said, butterfly roofs do exist but they're built in a way to move water (not snow) very quickly away from the valley...with typically oversized central gutters and scuppers and lots of valley flashing (continuous and overlapped metal sheets adhered to the deck)...
