Hello I live in New Jersey and I’m looking to decapitate my attic area to add a full second floor. The property is on a 35 degree slope from the front with a two car attached garage and driveway facing the street. I drive UP the driveway to enter the garage which is mostly underground. The current design has my main entrance/door at the same level as my garage. Upon entering the main door I walk up twelve steps to get onto the main floor. My goal is to close off my current main entrance/doorway, build two retaining walls in the area of my main entrance and backfill, two steps with 20’ landings down to the street. The top area will allow me to build exterior steps which would have a four foot rise to the main floor.
I am concern as to what the property would look like with two floors over the garage on my 35 degree property slope. If you have seen a design that is pleasing to the eye in New Jersey or on line, please direct me to that address. Don’t want to transplant the design but rather get assurance I’m not going to regret spending my money.

T- (isn't that how we address anyone named Anthony from New Jersey?)
I have done this before, but the garage was detached. Looks great. I have never photographed this house becuase I did it as a "moonlight" when I was working for a large E/A firm. I'll get a picture of it and see if I can post it..... Give me a few days. |

| phansford thanks for your response, I’ve been checking my e-mail hoping to see your project. I contacted an architect for drawings that my wife and I could agree on. As you stated, yes my friends call me T. |
