Head of department – Architecture
Our client is a leading architectural consultancy firm in the Arabian Gulf region. Based in Kuwait they are engaged in the design and construction supervision of many prestigious projects including high rise buildings, large commercial developments, resorts, master plans and infrastructure. We collaborate extensively with internationally renowned architectural firms in order to deliver projects to the world.
They are looking for a head of department reporting to directors.
Duties will include;
- Mentoring staff in professional demeanour, technical competence, team building, process improvement and client relations.
- Develop and maintain a stable, motivated staff with high moral
- Advocate, demonstrate and demand appropriate professional behaviour and take corrective action when necessary
- Establish and maintain departmental structure
- Determine the need for, and ensure suitable engagement of sub-consultants and specialists pertaining to the department discipline for projects as required.
Responsibilities;
- responsible for the overall professional performance of the department
- set up and update standard specifications, typical details and design procedures to streamline productivity and unify developments
- Supervise technical documentation produced by the department and specialist consultants directly or by delegation to key department staff
- Establish and implement adequate QA/QC procedures related to design and supervision.
- Provide technical support and presentations to clients when required
- Manage a large team. Dealing with a number of projects at the same time. Working under time and cost pressures.
Experience;
-Record of leadership capabilities in areas of communication, professional approach, personnel and design management
- Capable in marketing architectural services
- Thorough expertise in the fields of architecture and working knowledge of allied design disciplines.
