What is the purpose of plastering mud on bricks? Aren't bricks already, in effect, made of mud?

Usually when mud is used for making walls it will have another ingredient (e.g. straw) mixed with it to knit it together.

Maybe you should consider compacted earth/mud walls instead.

To keep the mud attached to the brick, you should attach some wire grid fabric, like chicken wire to the brick first. Another option would be to put up cement boards.

thank u very much for responding,
actually the building provided to me is already buit with brick and hence i have a choice to do with mud instead of cement. i was wondering whether it could be done in a traditional style - a mural with small glass pieces - kutchi work.

can u suggest for a good website on mud plastering.....

i shall try the chicken wire....

i do not have an idea to plaster everywhere... instead some lengths on the wall to 3' or 5'

thank u
bye
